Dedication to Family Legacy
As a third-generation breeder, I'm well aware of the pros and cons that accompany the world of dog fancy. I've seen new breeders come along who are instant experts and watched established breeders refuse to progress with contemporary knowledge. Conversely, I've also watched new and established breeders make remarkable improvements in many breeds.
For me, I have and will always have peer mentors. It is part of my family legacy. My dad taught me early on to appreciate breeders whose programs produced an improved Whippet.
Mentorship is the cornerstone for us at Of Course. Without the experiences and trust of our peers, we cannot hope to preserve or improve our canine companions, regardless of breed.
My favourite breeders over the past 40 years are those who listen as well as speak, who assist as much as ask for help and who make the effort to refrain from unsportsmanlike behaviour. That is the type of breeder I aspire to be as well.
