Who is Jade?
Ch. Granby Red Jade Of Course is my beautiful Gusto daughter. Out of Granby Jakkals Mafaro (dam to Am/Can Ch. Granby Little Big Man, TDX), Jade inherited the best of the Kopera and Granby lines.
Shown rarely as she lives full time with her co-owners and their children in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Jade has never let me down in the ring. In 2004 she accompanied me to the World Congress, RRCUS Nationals and related satellite shows when she was just six months old.
Here is a list of her wins from that 2004 trip:
- RRCUS Nationals, fourth place, 6-9 puppy class
- Trinity Valley Rhodesian Ridgeback Club, second place, 6-9 puppy class
- Fort Worth Kennel Club, fourth place, 6-9 puppy class
- Texas Kennel Club, third place, 6-9 puppy class
When the huge entries are taken into account, these wins are very impressive and she was competing against puppies from top US kennels. She showed four days on that trip and every day she won something.
Jade did not show again for another year and I entered her in Canada's largest dog show in conjunction with the RRCC national show. With boosted RR entries, Jade took WB two days in a row for five points each on both days.
Jade is a ring hog. She uses every trick in the book to gain full attention of audiences, often leaving them laughing or cheering, “Yay, Jade!” as she flies around the ring. She brings that comical attitude, flying movement, clear red wheaten colour, flawless topline and her father's super-sound rear to the Of Course breeding program.
